The trio consisting of composer Glowicka, harpsichordist Isphording and video artist Nitschke whose different backgrounds have catalyzed under this idea framed under the present performance. This program is the result of residencies at the STEIM institute (NL) and the Sonic Arts Research Centre (UK), Arts Council Northern Ireland, and is commissioned by the Fonds Scheppende Toonkunst. What's behind the magic dignity of its sound? Does it still exist? What does the bell mean to us? We were surprised to find an answer at a place you wouldn't think of... The 'Quasi Rublev' project is a staged performance that mixes live harpsichord with electronics and video clips whose source are the inspiration for the concept of the concert. The famous bell making episode of Tarkovsky's movie is taken as the starting point for an investigation into the contemporary relevance of bells both in society as well as in sonic composition. The performance begins with electronic and harpsichord duos that set the tone for the shows exploration of the Bell in Tarkovsky's movie.
